Description

Two weeks in Iceland at the beginning of August may be a little late season (more like a road trip with kayaks) but the country is an amazing place to travel and all the better with kayaks. From the top: Terns and skuas at Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon, leaving the tourists behind at the car park and kayaking through the icebergs to the centre of the lake. The iceberg rapids at the river mouth are ever changing and the seals will play their way down to the North Atlantic surf with you. All over Iceland you can seek out the hot springs and bathing pools like these at Mývatn in the North, just an unassuming fissure in the ground. You'll love traveling in Iceland and Cheap Jeep have the best deals (August us high season though). The glacial rivers occasionally take time out to fall off the face of the earth. A hypnotic 600 cumecs at Dettifoss. You'll receive a warm welcome all over Iceland (except in high season on salmon rivers) but especially so from Artic Rafting. Don't miss out on the sheep's face special at Reykjavík bus station.
